In according with the Center’s objectives, this unit pursues a three-pronged strategy of medicine provision, research, and education. The Pharmacy, active round the clock to provide all cardiovascular medicines to the Center’s patients, renders its services in the two fields of hospital pharmacology and clinical pharmacology. Pharmacotherapy services include monitoring, evaluating, and managing medicinal side effects; registering and preventing medicinal side-effects; holding and attending hospital rounds; monitoring the serum levels of medicines; monitoring and reviewing medicines prescribed to the patients; providing pharmacological information to the other members of the treatment team; and educating the patients in order to boost treatment adherence. The ward also features an IV Admixture Room, all the necessary measures for blood infusion are performed and cardiac surgery grafts are prepared for bypass surgery.
