With its state-of-the-art endoscopes, this ward renders its services primarily to cardiac patients who also suffer pulmonary or gastrointestinal problems and also inpatients referring to the Center. The ward benefits a cutting-edge monitoring system in tandem with the expertise of a team of anesthetists and is thus capable of admitting high-risk cardiac patients. The services provided include upper/lower gastrointestinal tract endoscopy in adults (e.g. diagnostic procedures, bleeding control, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, stent implantation, esophageal varices sclerotherapy, esophageal varices banding, and polypectomy), upper/lower gastrointestinal tract endoscopy in children over 4 years of age for the diagnosis and control of bleeding, and pulmonary tests (e.g. diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy, spirometry, D1co, and Body Box).
